Course Objective

The aim of the course is to provide course participants with the requisite WAH knowledge   so that they can perform their WAH activities properly and safely.
 

Learning Objectives
The objective of this training course is to enable participants to:
  • Identify relevant Workplace Safety & Health (WSH) legislations / approved codes of practice / Singapore standards applicable to WAH and roles and responsibilities
  • Identify WAH hazards and preventive measures related to WAH
  • Demonstrate the understanding of use and care for the various fall arrest systems and equipment
Who Should Attend

  • The “Perform Work At Height” is a mandatory training course for all workers performing WAH in construction and other industry sectors.
  • Learners are assumed to have:
    • Employability Skills (ES) Workplace Literacy level 3 and above.
    • Be able to manipulate numbers at a proficiency level equivalent to ES Workplace Numeracy level level 3 and above.

Entry Requirements

  • The trainees should be able to read and understand the registered language.
  • Participants are required to wear their safety boots for the practical session.

Validity Of Certificate

The safety pass that is issued to a successful participant for the course and assessment is valid for life long.
Based on the successful completion of the course and assessment, a certificate of achievement endorsed by SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG) will, will be awarded to the trainee.
 

Course Syllabus
  • Identify relevant Workplace Safety & Health (WSH) legislations / approved codes of practice / Singapore standards applicable to WAH and roles and responsibilities 
  • WSH Act, WAH & RM regulations, Codes of Practice, ACOP and Singapore Standards (0.15 Hours)
  • Roles and responsibilities (0.15 Hours)
  • Identify WAH hazards and preventive measures related to WAH activities
  • Hazard identification for WAH, fall control measures (1.15 Hours)
  • Permit-To-Work (PTW) for WAH (0.15 Hours)
  • Demonstrate the understanding and use and care for the various fall arrest systems and equipment
  • Donning of Individual Fall Protection equipment and application of self-relief technique* in emergency (2.30 Hours)
  • Fundamental of working at heights and Fall prevention (0.45 Hours)
  • Importance of Inspection & record keeping of WAH equipment (0.45 Hours)
  • Written Assessment (0.30 Hours) 
  • Practical Assessment (1.00 Hours)
Passing Mark
  • Theory Assessment 60 % of Marks
  • Practical Assessment 100 % of Marks
